WHY EMPLOYERS SPONSOR CDL TRAINING
Recruiting an experienced commercial driver can be challenging. Sponsoring a current employee may allow a company to build skills internally while retaining someone who already understands its customers, job sites and expectations.
CDL training may support roles in trucking, construction, utilities, public works, agriculture, oil and gas, delivery and many other industries.
CLASS A OR CLASS B?
Class A training is generally appropriate for employees who will operate large combination vehicles, such as tractor-trailers. Class B training is commonly used for large single-unit vehicles, including dump trucks, straight trucks, cement mixers and certain utility vehicles.
The employer should identify the actual vehicle configuration and any required endorsements before selecting a program.
TRUE SAFETY PROGRAM SCHEDULES
The daytime Class A program runs for two weeks, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The daytime Class B program runs for one week on the same schedule.
Evening and weekend arrangements may be available when taking an employee away from daily operations is difficult. Programs are offered regularly at our Greeley and Henderson locations.
COSTS AND REGISTRATION
The current Class A training and test package is $4,750 per student. The Class B training and test package is $3,750 per student.
For employer registrations, True Safety can provide an invoice. Once payment and enrollment requirements are completed, the student’s place can be reserved for the selected class.

BUILD TRAINING INTO WORKFORCE PLANNING
Before enrollment, confirm who will manage the employee’s permit preparation, medical certification, class attendance and testing timeline. Protecting the training schedule from conflicting assignments improves the student’s chance of staying on track.
After licensing, employers should still provide vehicle-specific orientation, company procedures and any job-specific training.
